Farewell Flowers

One of the most difficult times in our lives is saying goodbye to someone close to us. It feels impossible to know what to do or how to feel. We want to do something that honours the person who has passed, and often flowers seem the most appropriate. Whether you're gifting them or organising the flowers for the funeral, it can be hard to know what's needed - especially if you haven't done this before.

My name is Emma. I'm a florist who grows my own flowers in Matarangi, Coromandel. My business was named after my late Grandmother Ivy who, along with my late Grandfather Aubrey, inspired both my creativity and love for gardening. I found the planning of their final flowers to be both healing for my heart and a special tribute to their lives. I would be honoured to help you navigate this process for your loved one too.

Let's figure this out together...

To start with, are you wanting to organise the flowers for the funeral or memorial service? Or are you sending sympathy flowers to the family at home?

If you are sending flowers to the family

You can send them a bouquet from my Fresh Flower menu.

Would you like to include a vase? I don't currently have this as an option on the website, but I'm happy to arrange it for you. Contact me and we can discuss options. Often people don't have more than one or two vases (if any), or they may not want to think about finding one at a time like this.

Otherwise, I can wrap the stems in cellophane with a little water so they stay hydrated longer. Just pop a note in your order to request this - although if it's obvious they're bereavement flowers, I'll do this anyway.

If there are any cultural considerations I need to be aware of, or any special requests you have, please let me know when you place your order.

If you are organising flowers for the funeral service

You can simply contact me directly and we can discuss arrangements via email or over the phone. Or if you'd prefer, I've created a questionnaire you can fill out with all the things I'm likely to ask you about. This makes it easier for you to think about your answers and decide what type of arrangements would be best, and I can then send you a free quote before you need to confirm anything.

Although I wish it was under happier circumstances, I look forward to working with you to create something special and meaningful at this time.
